Steps to Starting a Corporate Giveaways Business

The corporate giveaways business has good profit potential that anyone can learn even in their spare time. But despite it being easy to study, execution and looking for the right suppliers can be taxing, especially if you are ill-prepared. Here are the basic steps you can follow if you plan on taking on this business:

Make a list of suppliers. Your suppliers would range from printing presses, silk screen printers, and school supplies stores. Be on the lookout for suppliers who can provide you very unique items such as lightup fans, toys, and any novelty items your future customers will love to have.

Set up your marketing plan. Will you be going around offices to make a proposal? Will you use Internet marketing to your advantage? Will you go around malls handing out flyers that you know no one will ever read? A mixture of promotional tools is probably best, but the trick is to know how much budget to allocate to each kind of promotion and how to implement this well.

Complete your samples. Build your portfolio of products and services. Make a price list based on your own pricing, after accounting for the costs you have incurred per i tem. Include them in your documents—have these in a file or have actual samples when talking with a client personally. Use well-lit photos when attaching them in an e-mail or when posting them on your website.

Learn new crafts. Merely buying your corporate giveaways elsewhere and acting as if they’re yours will get you in a lot of trouble; you may be known for bad quality of product and service, and earn a bad reputation in the industry. Uniqueness in this industry comes from customizability and flexibility.

Aim for long-term relationships with suppliers. Satisfied clients are long-term clients. They may be ordering from you annually, which only means you have guaranteed sales next year. Aim not just to satisfy your clients, but to impress them to the point that they would want to stick with you for years to come.
